Review of Pretty in Pink (1986) by Caz H — 10 Jun 2012
Probably the weakest out of the John Hughes movies he wrote. While the script was excellent, like his always are, the relationships between characters felt too blunt, not any hit of subtlety at all, which would have happened had Hughes helmed the entire project.
Still an excellent movie, but I felt only Jon Cryer as Duckie truly let go as an actor and embraced the part entirely, whereas all would have if Hughes directed.
