I love this movie. It certainly is my favourite John Hughes movie. There is a real spark between the love interests, a real belief in their character and genuine affection for each other. It the classic Romeo & Juliet/Westside Story storyline of rich boy like poor girl and all the complications that come with a controversal romance. There's the rich friends who want her gone, there's her best friend who's in love with her etc.
Realy great movie. I can watch over and over and it never loses the charm for me. Although the outfits are bit dated. James Spader, always brilliant as a stuck up rich kid and Jonathan Cryer - too cute as Duckie.
