Review of Prêt-à-Porter (1994) by Ws W — 01 Nov 2009
Back in 1994, [Pret-a-Porter] was such a creative & original idea for depicting the fashion scenes (& its behind-the-scene) with such a famous international cast. The result, however, was not so good & its narrative turned out to be a bit messy & confusing by interweaving so many plotlines in 135 minutes.
The gimmick of actual fashion scenes with appearances of designers & celebrities like Jean-Paul Gaultier, Gianfranco Ferre, Sonia Rykiel, Christian Lacroix, Issey Miyake, Cher, etc, in addition to Kim Basinger's annoying performance, on the contrary were the most awkward & uninteresting parts of the whole movie.
