Review of Preservation (2014) by Anthony T — 01 May 2015
Wrenn Schmidt is great. The direction and the writing showed some potential, but the story itself was just plain horrible. Poor concept, people acting in ways that are idiotic and make no sense. The last 15 minutes was laughably bad.
Minus one star for killing a dog in a horror movie, one of the worst amateur's tropes, made worse because it made no sense. (This seasoned war dog would have woken the protagonists, before tearing these antagonists apart, or sending them running back to their mommys).
I loathe reasonably well acted and shot films with idiotic writing. Waste of talent, budget and crew.
