Review of Premium Rush (2012) by Alex M — 14 Jun 2013

I definitely had a lot of fun with this, and it took interesting turns that I definitely was not expecting (at least considering the trailers). Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Shannon were great as the two leads; each were pretty much perfect for their respective roles, and the other side characters were nice.

The story, too, was refreshing, and the short length really fit the movie well. But of course, the constant bike racing proved exhilarating and only got crazier as more time passed, with obstacles and tricks coming every which way.

I have to give the director credit for making a movie about bikes so entertaining, and even more credit for making such a daring endeavor with Premium Rush. Fun little flicks like this just don't see the big screen that much anymore, and while it made very little at the box office, it certainly succeeded at being a high-octane, action packed, and thoroughly exhilarating film.
