Review of Premium Rush (2012) by James W — 26 Apr 2013
Premium Rush is high speed excitement. The film starts off with a great pace and then doesn't stop, it just gets faster as the narrative unfolds offering different perspectives from each characters surrounding that fatally important package.
The point where the narrative comes round in one circle is so clever! Joseph Gordon Levitt is a brilliant actor, loved his performance in this as he swoops and swerves through the bustling streets of New York whilst delivering smart one liners.
The supporting cast are exceptional, Jamie Chung delivers her best performance I've seen, and Michael Shannon is twisted and whenever he appears there is a sense of danger and menace, giving the film a dark tone that adds to the suspense.
Filled with fast and furious chase sequences and an awesome style that uses technology to span the Big Apple, Premium Rush is breathless entertainment that packs agressive violence and a joyous speedy plot.
