(2012) Premium Rush.
ACTION/ THRILLER.
Co-written and directed by David Koepp is an exciting extravaganza showcasing Joseph Gordon Levitt as bike carrier Wilee before he was being hit by a New York cabbie, and the film flips back two hours back to what lead him to that. Chronicling different stages and different directions as well as some points of view regarding delivering a simple receipt for another friend.
What's absorbing is the fact that this film uses several techniques in combination from many films including "Wild Things" ironic several POV, "High Noon" because of the the clock, and of course "Quicksilver" explaining how bike carriers in New York City work and then the reason why the central character liked this profession as opposed to being a lawyer. And as biker myself, I love it's energy and for it's enthusiasm regarding biking, and thought Levitt's several scenes of mocking by his cackling was perfect. My only gripe is that the main baddie didn't suffer enough and would have liked to see him suffer a lot more.
3 out of 4 stars.
