Review of Premium Rush (2012) by Trey T — 16 Jul 2013
The thing that made me want to watch this movie was that the characters were on bicycles. I thought the idea of the movie was fresh, new, and exciting. However, when I saw this movie, I found that it was below my espectations.
While it's able to entertain you with it's fast-paced bicycling scenes, it's unable to keep your attention with it's crudely-made story. Joeseph Gordon-Levitt's performance was flawless as always, but even he couldn't make this movie any better.
Him and Dania Ramirez's characters both have this romance going on that the movie doesn't really pay attention to. Michael Shannon's performance was decent, but also unneeded. His character was a lot like Ken Jeong's character in Transformers: Dark Of The Moon.
The character was necessary, but the peformence wasn't. The problem with this movie is that it's entertaining when it's time be entertaining, but fails to be serious when time to be serious.
It had a great idea for a movie, but couldn't hold up due to it's poorly made story.
