Review of Predestination (2013) by Julian L — 30 Dec 2014
Do you need an aspirin? ok I love mindbenders and mindfu3kers; by mid-way, many would have guessed it but that's just it, the story is in an infinite loop that when 'it' hits you, you go "damn I didn't expect that" and then you figuer everything out before the end.
I used "IT" very lightly here so as not to spoil much of it. I read a quote, "this is how time travel should be done"; uhmm I don't quite agree, looper was an awesome time traveller and that tops my list.
This is more than time travel, as a matter of fact it's secondary to the premise of 'ldentity". The protagonist struggles with identity from minute 1 till the last, then the meaning transfers to the audience.
As the audience, the unmarried mother is trying to tell us; who she was, who she is and who she will be. A paradoxial existence nonetheless. Go ahead, take that aspirin.
