Review of Predestination (2013) by Franz H — 21 Sep 2015
Interesting movie...not much happens except a lot of talking for the first 45 minutes, so this certainly isn't an action flick. But it comes across to me as a bit contrived, trying to bend your mind as so many movies do nowadays.
So if you love mind-benders, this one is for you. But especially towards the end, I kept saying to myself, "yeah, but even if you could travel in time, stuff like that isn't possible!". And geez, you don't think you'd recognize yourself from a different time if you were standing together? Anyway, it's one of those movies that you'll probably watch, then watch again to figure out all of the details of the twisted premise.
Which can be fun if you like that stuff. But personally I'm getting a bit tired of the deliberately twisted, contrived and impossible complexity that is so prevalent in movies these days.
