Review of Predator 2 (1990) by J J — 26 May 2011

Predator 2.

Actually, I really enjoyed it. This gets bad rep unfairly in my humble opinion, sure it had some cheesy scenes and dialogue but the action scenes are really well done. It isn't a patch on the first film but thats to be expected, Danny Glover is hardly Arnold Schwarzenegger. The city environment was a breathe of fresh air to me, we get to see the Predator fight the humans on their turf, whereas the jungle is probably more suited to the Predator. It's meant to be set in the future of 1997 but it seems like it's an early 80's film judging by the costumes (and Danny Glover's weird baggy trousers). Danny Glover looked really clumsy and awkward at times running around with a gun, no surprise that this was his only role where he was the main action star. He still manages to pull it off though. My favourite moment in the film has to be Gary Busey's "GUESS WHOS BACK!!" scene, left me crying with laughter. This film is more of a guilty pleasure and for my money, it's better than Predators by some distance. I know a lot of people will disagree with me but oh well.
