Review of Predator (1987) by Jailhouse M — 25 Aug 2013
Most of this movie is bad in the way you would expect from an 80's action flick. The director and writer insult your intelligence over and over again ("He didn't see me!"... Uhh, yeah we got that.) while the lack of exposition on the other hand makes me wonder about the screenplay writing process.
But, the suspense is great and the action is exciting (most of it) and Arnold's in it. The actual predator alien creature is awesome and the sinister heat vision and the sound effect that cues it are both great suspense devices. The last act along with the predator is definitely what sells this classic 80's horror movie (which is definitely better than having it be the first act).
