Review of Predator (1987) by Chinmai R — 28 Oct 2013
A team of commandos in the woods in Central America find themselves haunted by an extra-terrestrial being. Much like Jaws and Alien, this is the kind of creature feature that actually builds up tension with visual creativeness rather than explicitness.
There is a lot of tension to the final bout, and on that note it is fair to say that Schwarzenegger's imposing action star present is perfect as the pivotal character in this man vs. alien traditional plot.
Yet, for all the simplistic nature of the plot, it's easy to read some deeper meaning within the storyline structure about war and the unseen enemy.
