Review of Predator (1987) by Jacob B — 14 Feb 2018
Predator may have its more cheesy moments but still manages to stand the test of time as one of the greatest sci-fi action horror movies of all time. Maybe not as great as Aliens but still. From its memorable quotes such as "Get to da choppaaaa", entertaining action sequences and great performances as Schwarzenegger proves he's able to play a badass soldier.
Good news, girls, the one female character may not really do anything but you've got yourselves some fanservice here. Bunch of buff muscular dudes who got to show off their muscles even more later on in the movie.
The special effects have aged incredibly well. They were groundbreaking when they came out and are still admirable to this day. The invisibility effect looks somewhat outdated but still kind of cool since I don't think they used actual CGI in spite of what its movement and visual appearance when playing the chameleon might say.
The actual creature when visible looks quite good. I understand why comics were made that have them fighting xenomorphs which were then adapted into two movies that don't have the best of reputations.
Since I ain't got time to write a longer review than this, let's just say that Predator is an all-around fun action movie even if it has its more cheesy moments.
