Review of Predator (1987) by Craig D — 28 May 2014
Predator (1987) is still a masterpiece after all these years. It combines a fast pace, tense score, and a cool cast of tough badasses. To top off the badass heroes, they come up with an even badder villain, an intergalactic alien hunter.
Filmed in the harsh jungles and with a cast of only about 10 people, the movie manages to mix the dense atmosphere with the loud action and manliness that most action movies would kill to have.
It gets started as soon as you see the first scene, and never lets up with the suspense. There's plenty of action as well, and they save the Predator for later and don't shove him in as fast as possible. The musical score by Alan Silvestri is great and really enhances the film.
A science fiction classic that is to be hailed, Predator should viewed and enjoyed many times over.
