Review of Predator (1987) by Mark B — 15 Jul 2017
A relentless action film that makes the audience feel what it's about, and what it's about is survival. It dives straight in and stays consistently, brutally paced thorough, but balances it with human touches to make you care more than expected for the cannon fodder.
Schwarzenegger is toned down from his typical hard-ass one-liner machine by the company he keeps, who are somehow likeable despite their machismo. It can't escape the feel of an '80's action movie, but is one of the best examples of one.
