Review of Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire (2009) by Marvin H — 30 Dec 2010
The bad language takes a bit of getting used to, but this is a very gritty drama about an obese girl who doesn't have a lot going for her as she is a victim of abuse by her own father, which results in two pregnancies.
But the film ultimately is quite uplifting as things begin to look up for Precious as she learns to read and starts to see a more hopeful future, despite being diagnosed with HIV.
