Review of Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire (2009) by Lauren R — 24 Mar 2011
This film is just the latest vessel that liberal white America presents to the public as their viewpoint on the experience of blacks in America. Nothing more than welfare collecting, fried chicken stealing, white people admiring lives.
Not to mention the fact that all of the white or light skinned people in the film are helpful, thoughtful and trying to provide aid, while the darkies just try to bring Precious down. I couldn't have been more offended by a film, except perhaps (Avatar), but that is science fiction so everyone ignored the truth about that film.
Has nothing changed regarding blacks in films since Boyz N The Hood and Menace II Society.
