Despite initial misgivings I did think this was pretty good. Even though at times it feels a bit too much like one of those novels that are 3 for a tenner in Tescos. You know the ones about kids getting beaten up and abused and then coming good in the end (never understood why people read those).
It's lifted above the norm by some excellent performances but don't worry there are a few shoddy ones as well, yeah I'm looking at you Carey. All in all, it's solid, not the classic it was claimed to be though.
