The best part is at the end, when the mother of Precious gives her monologue to the social worker, it opens your eyes to the lack of education inherent in the population stricken by extreme poverty. Bad things don't happen in the ghetto because the people are bad.
They are good people with good intentions and good hearts. They simply just don't know any better.
