What a weird mix of sweet family fluff and hard core drama. I would have liked more small-town-girl-makes-good and less small-town-girl-hooks-up-with-abusive-bastard. Perhaps if the dramatic beats hadn't been so predictable and bland it would have been more palatable? Probably not.
