Review of Prayers for Bobby (2009) by Stephanie C — 29 Jun 2010
On one hand I really liked this movie, but at the same time I didn't. The problem is; I don't really know WHY I didn't like it - I just didn't. Sigourney Weaver was excellent in her role, it really suited her, and she's a great actress.
The story is powerful and unfortunately based on a true story. The transformation Mary Griffith goes through after her son's death is marvellous. The last scene - with the gay pride parade is really feel good and happy and well; gay! I loved that scene.
Still, there's something about this movie I didn't like, so it doesn't reach any higher than 3 stars.
