Review of Powder Blue (2009) by Igor K — 09 Dec 2009
Very rarely can a man see this good use of music and sounds as an atmosphere booster. The music is very sensual and it colours extremely well the dispear of the characters. The storyline is a quite deja vu, 4 people lives intersecting on the brink of the Christmas Eve, which is most probably chosen to emphasize the emotional deepness which those kind of dates can cause in person.
Nevermind the slow paced shots, there are going quite well till the middle of the movie and then something goes really wrong. Instead of a good build up and an emotional self-purification we are getting a very cliche, flat and dissapoiting ending.
The emotions which were building up until that point are wasted and drowned away by bad director and storyline choices. In summary a very good chance being spoiled by lack of common sense reasoning. Emotions can lift you up but in directing can blur your vision.
