Review of Powder (2010) by Dave C — 07 Aug 2007
It's been a while since I've seen this one, but from what I remember it packs an emotional wallop. It's got an ambitious message about acceptance and worth, judging and tolerance. It's got elements of the supernatural which help it gain both human and spiritual depth, and it's got an incredibly human story wrapped up in something extraordinary.
For all of that though it seemed to just be okay. It travels the line of great, and perhaps should have been great, but I guess when you are this ambitious it can be hard to make it all come together.
It certainly was a unique and powerful story though.
