Review of Powaqqatsi (1988) by Marie H — 07 Jun 2007
This is not a film, it is an experience.
Powaqqatsi is the second in the three part installments of the Koyaanisqatsi series. It is a stunning piece of work that grabs you and moves you wordlessly through beautiful shot after shot, roaming through the cultures and cities of the third world.
Although it has basically no dialogue, it is impossible to escape the message of Powaqqatsi, as the mood and meaning border on hypnotic.
This is a definite must for anyone interested in an unforgettable emotional experience.
