Review of Powaqqatsi (1988) by Wes S — 03 Feb 2010
I worship this movie. The music is different but I think just as good as Koyaanisqatsi, and I love the visuals as well. It shows the developing nations of the world in a way few people will see. I don't believe it shows the countries or the people in a bad light either.
Yeah, they're poor, but Powaqqatsi also presents us with their cultures. I take it to say that we're all people in the end, and even though some of our lives might be hampered by Western economics, it is us and our culture that shines.
Wow, that's pretty fruity there...but whatever. It's definitely a worthy sequel. Philip Glass is a GOD.
