Review of Powaqqatsi (1988) by James H — 15 Mar 2006
This film has little impact compared to it's predessesor - Koyaaniqatsi. I have little sympathy for third world nations and their problems - and much of this film focuses on that. All of which they bring on themselves.
If their government is corrupt, they have the power to change it. They don't appear to be doing that. I lived in Zambia under British control, and it was magnificent and productive. Now under black control it is corrupt, unproductive, AIDS ridden and poverty stricken.
Starvation is rampant. No sympathy from me.
