Takes a ridiculous idea -- make JCVD the victim of an urban legend -- and wastes it through lack of imagination and ambition. It should have been cheesy, lunatic fun, not a talky bore. If Van Damme has to angst, let it be because of a kick to the head, not his sins of the past.
