Review of Potiche (1983) by Darren Y — 22 Jun 2011
Charming and lightly comic film, which also has a feminist sub-text. Very well played by Deneuve, and good to see Depardieu showing some of his previous form. The costumes, cars and sets are a delight for anyone growing up in the mid 1970s.
A strength of the film is its focus on mature relationships, rather than the typical Hollywood formula of casting the usual bunch of 20 something beautiful young things. Recommended.
