Review of Potiche (1983) by Inga H — 24 Sep 2013

I didn't enjoy this half as much as Populaire, also a French 'retro' movie which we watched recently. It's set in 1977 which is not quite long enough ago to feel quaint to me, and industrial strife is not an ideal milieu for a fluffy wee farce like this.

I guess that it would appeal more to someone French, and more au fait with the detail of the period and with small town French political life. Still, Depardieu is on good form and so is Deneuve, so it's far from terrible.
