Review of Postman (1995) by Gordon C — 15 Aug 2010
Being part Mad Max, part Robin Hood, part western, you might expect The Postman to be an enjoyable film. Unfortunately, it is also part New Testament and part Kevin Costner's ego: can we really believe Costner to be the 'savior' of mankind (well, northwest America)? Unfortunately this film is overly sentimental, tediously long and totally patronizing.
On this occasion the film gods performed a judicious miracle: The Postman bombed in the box office. Avoid.
