Review of Postal (2007) by Mike H — 24 Sep 2008
I thought this movie would be based on the video game of the same name, and turn out kind of like "He Was a Quiet Man" with Christian Slater, about a guy who goes to work and snaps one day, going postal and killing everyone.
It ends up being a very weak and lame movie with next to zero plot whatsoever, and while it is supposed to be based on the game, it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the game. I expected a more realistic and dark psychological movie, but instead they went for more of a "Scary Movie" feel, trying to parody everything around the intense lack of a plot.
While this movie does have 3 or 4 things that made me laugh, I would have rather seen that 15 seconds extracted into a clip on Youtube, than watch this whole movie.
This movie totally fails to entertain. If you're looking for a real "Postal" movie, get "He Was a Quiet Man" instead. If you're looking for a good comedy, throw a dart blindly at another comedy, as it'll likely be funnier.
