Review of Postal (2007) by Todd P — 04 Jul 2009
Add "comedy" to the list of film genres in which the infamous Uwe Boll has absolutely no talent. I like toilet humor as much as the next person, and I can laugh at offensive un-PC jokes (as long as they are FUNNY).
But when the funniest thing in your "comedy" is MiniMe getting ass-raped by a thousand horny chimps in order to fulfill a "religious prophecy," that should be a tip-off to others as to what to expect from this film.
It's pretty common knowledge at this point that Herr Boll churns out his shitty films more to slake the thirst of German financiers looking for tax write-offs than to fulfill any sort of artistic vision (which by itself makes the common comparison b/w him and Ed Wood very much off-the-mark).
No, the real mystery here is why a once genuinely funny guy like Dave Foley (of "Kids in the Hall" fame) would let himself appear in this schlock. Which puts him in the same league as Ben Kingsley, Michael Madsen, Jason Statham, Ray Liotta, and Tara Ried (i.
E., other top-notch talents who for reasons known only to them agreed to star in any Uwe Boll films).
