Review of Postal (2007) by Daniel I — 03 Mar 2012
As far as I'm concerned, "Postal" doesn't even make sense. It's like a series of bad comedy sketches stitched into 99-minutes of cinematic WTF. And not in a good way. One such problem was the opening sequence, which is basically a plane crashing into the Twin Towers.
And the rest of the film just tests the audience's perception of taste (gunplay, toilet humor, male nudity, etc). There is also a scene in which Verne Troyer is raped by monkeys, and don't forget the climatic Bush/Bin Laden pair-up which ends with a plethora of atomic bombs being dropped above them.
I guess Mr. Boll wanted to say something political in this movie, but when your movie starts out the way he had it, it's just gonna go downwards.
