Review of Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (2016) by Désirée S — 16 Oct 2016
An OK parody - not really above average, nor terrible. Sandberg is great as 'Conner4Real', a Timberlake/Bieber hybrid who epitomizes music business excess. Owen (Taccone) & Lawrence (Schaffer) are the former boy-band members (a la Nsync), shafted by Conner's success.
Obviously, he wrecks his solo career & they reform. There's a lot of cameo's, some good one-liners (mostly in the songs, so they're easy to miss), and the music is appropriately crap. Probably needed more of Silverman, Meadows and Rudolph, but it doesn't overstay it's welcome and has a happy ending.
Could've done without the 1min of penis scree-time!
