Review of Pootie Tang (2001) by Jack L — 23 Apr 2009

Actually very good. Watching this for the first time in 2009, makes me think this will be revered as a classic. The comedy is timeless. The story is timeless. Think about it: the hit song Pootie Tang puts out, there no way they could have made it anything else.

All of the annoying movie things done in this are intentional presented concretely, instead of when a movie tries to be 'good' and tries to hide plot explanations, recaps, etc., within the story.

So in the end we have a very honest, timeless, comedy movie. Unfortunately, the recaps and plot explanations, while funny the first time, get very annoying in sequential viewings.
