Ok, so I'm a pool junkie, but I really don't think this movie (or The Color of Money, for that matter) is anything compared to the Hustler. Sure, it's got some smooth talking shooters and some awesome trick shots, but I guess guys like it more because of all the violence and action.
I think they got it right in the Hustler.
