Review of Pontypool (2009) by Jonas J — 03 Sep 2009
It deserves one star since I like how it is putting Pontypool on the map! I've been through the real town quite a few times as I used to live 20 minutes away and it's along a popular route to the Kawartha Lakes area of Ontario (a popular cottage area).
As for the movie itself, what a bore! First of all, a tiny town like Pontypool would not have a traffic helicopter monitoring the 401 (first factual error) as that highway is 40 minutes away from the town! The main character, a hillbilly type philosopher is annoying and the two secondary characters (the two women) are frustrating to say the least.
I expected at least one scare from this movie but all I got was a lot of mindless drivel from a hillbilly radio hosts, tons of factual errors and lame acting. Stay away from this movie!
