Slow build up to what is a ludicrous storyline, which eventually ends up being laughable...had some great potential that was ruined by trying to be too clever.
SPOILER: People are infected by hearing and understanding certain words, which carry the virus e.g. if you hear the word "kill" then you repeat it and turn insane and zombie-like until you kill yourself...the answer? make people think "Kill" means "Kiss" etc - not sure why some many comments are calling this intelligent horror, as the story circulates against this one premise.
