Review of Pontypool (2009) by Pete M — 08 Dec 2011
The idea of a zombie virus that spreads through sound or language was interesting and parts were pretty creepy but just when it looked like it might get interesting, it didn't, then just when you think it might have a twisty plot twist twist, it didn't and then just at the end when things were coming together and the ending might be the missing part of the puzzle to put it all together and be really inventive, it just ended with a whisper instead of the bang it was meant to.
Stephen McHattie was totally the best thing about this and worth watching for, second is when the one zombie who does anything throws her guts up and drops dead, which was pretty good, lastly the sense of tension from the score and weird noises from the zombies was pretty effective for the most part, it was just a shame it went nowhere.
