Review of Pontypool (2009) by Peter K — 12 May 2010
First of all...this IS a zombie film of the utmost horror...not your typical balls out action film...this is for the cerebral film fanatic...one that enjoys great, smart dialogue and storytelling...a very unique and satisfying film in every way.
..not for the "short attention minded fools" such as ones that enjoyed Iron Man 2 or other like-minded films...anyone thinking this to be a slow film has no clue as to what it takes for a great story.
..this one makes you think...imagine a Zombie virus...spread by your ability to understand a spoken phrase or certain words in the English language. That predicament poses a problem for the radio presenter and his staff holed up in the broadcast booth housed in the basement of the town's abandoned church.
They are restricted in their ability to warn the outside world and to communicate with each other as slaughter rages beyond its walls.
