Review of Ponette (1996) by Heather H — 08 Jun 2007
This film makes my tear ducts activate just thinking about it. This actress, 4 years old, so truthfully and accurately captures the feelings of a 4 year old girl upon the death of her mother. That's how old I was when I had that experience, so I find this sort of an autobiographical indulgence (but I have to be ready to go to a sad place).
This is a movie that captures very real and poignant parts of life. Another reviewer said "If you want to get to know me better, watch this movie." Ditto.
