Thankfully--and despite the trailer--this flick turned out to be an anthem for compassion and survival. Still, it's a tricky subject...with potential to memorialize a madman...and I was all up-in-arms about Villeneuve's intent.
But his filmic lyricism (the last 10 minutes are gorgeous) will hopefully outweigh any reverence given to the thousand-yard stare of Maxim Gaudette's "Assassin". Serial killer fetishists need not apply.
