Review of Polyester (1981) by Wayne Z — 30 Aug 2008
The fact that this had a bigger budget than previous John Water's movies and was more sanitised than his other films was probably no coincidence. With this he was going for a more mainstream audience.
It was still pretty far out though, particularly as it was oginially shown in theatres with a scratch and sniff card (which included scents such as shit!). Listen out for Blondie's Debbie Harry on the soundtrack as well as a nice vocal number from Bill Murray.
