Review of Polyester (1981) by Cli O — 20 Nov 2008
This was on tbs or something late at night about a month back, decently edited for cable television. I haven't seen any of john waters' other stuff, but what i've read has said that this was the least offensive, and the most easy to transition into cable television play. I enjoyed the daytime drama parody, most notably the dramatic orchestral "punches" directly after things begin to fall apart for francine. (which happen a lot.) the visuals looked fresh, like it was filmed within the past three years. it was smartly written and makes me want to SNAG SOME MORE JOHN WATERS MOVIES.
(also, STIV BATORS, what you doin' there!).
