Review of Poltergeist II: The Other Side (1986) by Jason C — 14 Feb 2010
It looks like it's all about the power of family and all that saccharine stuff in this outing. The whole family is back...that's all well and good. The writers are back (sans Spielberg) and they do their best without him attached to the project.
Julian Beck is absolutely menacing in his last major film role of his career. Jerry Goldsmith provides a completely different musical score this time. Unfortunately, it's rather hit and miss with director Brian Gibson.
Sometimes you are riveted and other times you are bored with drivel....but no matter what happens, you can't help but love this family and pull for them to get rid of this ghost crap once and for all.
