Worthy sequel to the original picks up about a year after the first. The Freeling family is living with Diane's mother, trying to mete out an existence and collect that insurance after their house implodes! Here, the source of the evil spirits is revealed (and remains one of the creepiest villains of all time), and can be counted by fans of the canon as the final real showdown between what is a realistically nuanced American family and the forces of a supernatural evil.

(Older sister is not present in this film, as her actress died shortly after the first. No attempts appear to be made to explain her absence.).
