Review of Polly of the Circus (1932) by Allan C — 28 Dec 2015
Dull circus drama about trapeze artist Marion Davies (the real-life girlfriend of William Randolph Hearst) falling for priest Clark Gable. Davies is so-so and I've never really cared for Gable, but I was hoping for some circus hokum and didn't even get much of that.
There are some Tod Browning-like circus moments early in the film, which was promising, but it was really just a dull romance story between the dull leads.
