Review of Pollock (2000) by Joseph Y — 03 Mar 2008
I freakin love Jackson Pollack's drunken masterpieces. After seeing them up front and in person at the Met and Peggy Guggenheim's house in Venice, I think he is a genius...right up there (for me) with Picasso in terms of the best Modern art I've seen.
Ed Harris really shows his talent in this...especially the scenes when he actually puts paint to canvas. It's basically his brainchild as he produced, directed, and stared in it.
I completely agree with Marcia Gay Harden getting her Oscar and now believe Harris should have taken it over Russell Crowe in Gladiator.
Really glad I finally got around to seeing this, and I recommended watching it with whiskey...a great flick.
