I was excited to see this because it's about an alcoholic. Jackson Pollock is not only an alcoholic though, he's totally fucking bipolar. Which I thought was cool, because I'm bipolar too, but I never overturned the dinner table at Thanksgiving and told everyone to go fuck themselves.

This guy was batshit insane; but obviously a talented artist. Ed Harris stars as Jackson Pollock, who in the beginning of the movie is a struggling artist in the '40s who finds love and acceptance with a fellow artist played by Marcia Gay Harden.

The story follows the last 15-20 years of his life, and you go with him on a journey through all his triumphs and the really bad, nitty gritty parts (I love when he calls his wife a bitch cunt whore and breaks a chair in anger).

Ed Harris is fucking unbelievable in the part, and I was shocked when the credits roled up and his name was up first as director. GOOD FUCKING JOB, Ed! (Even though we can all see your gross back hair glistening in the sunlight in broad daylight scenes, you're one hell of a terrific director, actor, and all around awesome guy.

) Jennifer Connelly shows up in the last half hour as the woman he's cheating on his wife with; after he started drinking again, which is bad for everyone. And the movie ends tragically. So there we go, I know know the lifestory of a famous painter, who I never cared about.

But leave it to Ed Harris to make it interesting for me.
